If downtown feels busier than usual this week, you’re not imagining it. Bassmaster weekend has a way of filling every hotel and every bar stool in town.

That also means the city feels pretty fun right now. Parades, festivals, comedy shows, and more than a few reasons to linger a little longer on Gay Street.

We also spotted a local burger comeback in the works and a new indoor pickleball club opening its doors!

Not a bad lineup for mid-March, right?

In today’s Scoop:

  • 🍔 Broadway’s Best Buns Just Moved

  • 🏓 Kingston’s New Sweet Spot

  • 🥃 Where Timeless Spirits Meet

  • 🍀 Knoxville’s Luckiest Weekend Ever

🍀 A spirited corner for whiskey and kinship

602 S Gay St, Knoxville, TN

Clancy’s Tavern and Whiskey House hums with the lived-in energy of a century-old neighborhood anchor. Sitting right in the heart of the theater district, it becomes the city’s unofficial living room as St. Patrick’s Day approaches and the Guinness starts flowing.

While the whiskey list is deep and thoughtful, the kitchen shines with refined pub staples like the bangers and mash or their notably crisp, double-fried wings. It is a masterclass in local hospitality, rooted in a family history that spans decades on Gay Street.

Grabbing a quick bite before a show at the Tennessee Theatre? This space feels like home.

🌿 A slow ritual for the scalp

103 W Jackson Ave, Knoxville, TN

Amulet welcomes the shifting season with a quiet pace that honors the old ways of tending. The air in this downtown sanctuary carries the scent of hand-selected plants and herbal steam, a grounding contrast to the bright energy of spring.

Instead of gadgets, a steady stream of warm water known as hydrodhara offers a moment of deep, sacred rest. It is a place for hand-blended teas, rocking chair circles, and meticulous care for hair and nails.

With new henna services now available, it remains a thoughtful space to look inward and find belonging.

🍔 BurgerBoys finds a new home on Broadway

The Gist: Local favorite BurgerBoys is returning to Knoxville after closing its doors last spring. Owner Andre Bryant is moving the shop into the former Wendy’s building on Broadway. To help fund the reopening, the restaurant is offering a deal where neighbors can purchase a fifty dollar gift credit for twenty five dollars.

Why It Matters: This move brings a cherished local business back to life in a spot previously held by a national chain. You can support the comeback now by purchasing the two for one gift certificates to use once the doors officially open.
