🏊‍♂️ Inskip pool gets $261K upgrade

The Gist: Mayor Indya Kincannon signed a $261,526 contract with Cagle Development to give the popular Inskip Park pool a major upgrade. The investment builds on recent park enhancements at the 12-acre site, including a $263,530 land acquisition for open green space, ongoing Bruhin Road sidewalk upgrades, and a planned KAT bus stop.

Why It Matters: By pairing pool repairs with better crosswalks, expanded green space, and upcoming transit access, the city is making it easier and safer for everyone in the neighborhood to enjoy one of our favorite community hubs. The new concrete decks and ADA accessibility features should be ready for swimmers by next spring!

🚓 National Night Out kick-off coming soon

The Gist: The City of Knoxville and the South Knoxville Neighborhood & Business Coalition are hosting a free, family-friendly National Night Out Kick-Off on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Urban Wilderness Gateway Park (1250 Tilson). Hang out with officers from the Knoxville PD and crews from the Knoxville FD, enjoy games, and grab food from South Knox’s own Chef Mo!

Why It Matters: Bringing everyone together helps make our neighborhoods safer, stronger, and more connected. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of a new stuffed animal, which officers and firefighters keep in their emergency vehicles to comfort children at emergency scenes.
